Strategic marriage

His uncle has a piece of advice,
He could kill two birds in one stone,
With a single stroke he did,
Strategic marriage and a future.

He was positive about the outcome,
Of something he did for the future,
Even as she remained barren,
He went for a procedure.

He reminded himself,
Of how important he'd be,
In a campaign against a family,
Thought he'd convince her to hate.

But far more than he thought,
He found his wife nurturing hatred,
Against the cousins she was jealous of,
Diverted benefits away to oblivion.

She'd rather go empty stomach,
Than allow them to shine,
He felt more of an obligation,
Fulfilling his political act.
