9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez,[a] saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.”
10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, (asking for) “Oh, that you would (1)bless(ing) me and (2)enlarge(ment of territory) my territory! Let your hand be with me, and (3)keep(ing him from hard) me from harm so that I will be (4)free(dom) from pain.” And God granted his request.
