'God's Ambassador': How Billy Graham Touched the Life and Faith of President Trump

Evangelist Rev. Billy Graham has preached to millions of people around the world, including President Donald Trump. 

President Donald Trump honored the life and influence of the global evangelist Wednesday. 

"Melania and I join millions of people around the world in mourning the passing of Billy Graham," the president wrote in a statement.  "Our prayers are with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all who worked closely with Reverend Graham in his lifelong ministry." 

"Billy's unshakeable belief in the power of God's word to transform hearts gave hope to all who listened to his simple message: 'God loves you,'" he continued. "He carried this message around the world through his crusades, bringing entire generations to faith in Jesus Christ." 

Wednesday afternoon, the White House released President Trump's proclamation on Graham's passing.

"As a mark of respect for the memory of Reverend Billy Graham, I hereby order, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, that on the day of his interment, the flag of the United States shall be flown at half‑staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset on such day.  I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same period at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations."

Supplementary Question to Department of Consumer Affairs in regard to examination of Demands for Grants (2018-19)

In part (b), page 4, under (i) strenthening of Legal Metrology Regulation and Enforcement of part (B) of the Preliminary Material called "Umbrella Legal Metrology & Quality Assurance" of the Preliminary Materials on Demands for Grants (2018-19) of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs), total outlay for Strengthening of Regional Reference Standards Laboratories (RRSL) and Indian Institute of Legal Metrology (IILM), Ranchi is stated to be R. 47.25 crore.

But..

In pages 42 and 72 of the same study material the figure is shown to be Rs. 45 crore. The figure in Page 72 includes the cost for setting up of time servers too (apparently time dissemination).

Even in reply to the questionnaires furnished on a later date, the figure is shown as Rs. 45 crore in Page 146 (Annexure-K).

On the other hand, replies to Q. Nos. 46 and 49 quote an amount of 10 crore.

Moreover, in reply to Q. No. 47 the Department states that for dissemination of Indian Standard Time Rs. 100 crore would be spent in two financial years. So where does the Rs. 45 crore (or is it Rs. 10 crore of Rs. 47 crore?) figure?

Please explain in detail.

Scheme and non-scheme

10.30 am dshna wants opinion of US, who preferred to call premraj kuar, also said that materials be circulated as per availability. I gave the draft for correction to darshana, who pointed to bg. Then I edited it and gave it to bg for him to carry out. At 11.40 am dshna called AD and obtained order that materials be circulated department wise.

12.27 pm Wanted to know the difference between scheme and non-scheme. Called 23382525, Mahesh slammed the phone down and put the phone off the hook. Thereafter at 12.30 pm I called 23382503 where pradeep assured that he would find the contact number of shri. RK Srivastava, sr accounts officer and tell me.

Called 23289084 and came to know that there is virtually no difference between non plan and non scheme. First supplementary demand is raised at June/July session, second in Nov/Dec and third in budget session. He also told me that RE is made in Dec/Jan of the following year.

2.32 pm AD asked for one set each of materials of both departments. I told him that the same had been done on Tuesday,  13 February, 2018. But he said he had not received the same. I told Mhnder to do the needful.
A call came from AD again during the absence of US chiding me about triplicacy of materials provided to him. It was my fault ☺
30 copies English and 20 copies Hindi reply to LoP dodfpd received. Hindi proof along with english version of 18th ATR resolved and sent to Tr-CV. Also Hindi versions of circulation letters received.

Query on 18th ATR from Printing Section.

LoP doca put up with draft om forwarding same. A mischievous om taken out saying that lop would be forwarded im due course. Got corrected. Dir and Dshna negate the mention of 13th five year plan. Said 12th fyp was extended for 6 more months, which ended in September last. Dshna said it was extended for one more year. Just like rolling plans !!

Dir wanted me to send letter to FCI lucknow myself. I gave the file for scrutiny by Dshna. 'Let's wait for US to do' said her. That's not what I mean. Necessarily.

Notice was got translated.

Called WG Branch for two more dates 26&27 as back up plan. the week after 20 & 21 february, 2018. Just in case.

Doca said file approved, but spiral bound sets tomorrow. Soft ccopy received through email. Also hindi version of the material reminded about. Instances of english copies in hindi version and vice versa never wanted.

Zl walked in, wished Mhndr and swung in with a swagger and sat down. I told US which group of the camp he belong, but he ignored my word, went over to where Mhndr who sat listening to music, said the music was his favourite. He called him over to where we sat. Zl was tightly smiling. 

Suddenly I felt like leaving. It was 5.55 pm. I wished goodnight to all of them. And as I left, I shook the hand of Mhndr and patted Zl on the back. US said good night two times. 

On the way I asked myself whether it was an attempt to do something. But I have already left.

On the insistence of US I sent asked Mhnder to take my ltc settlement claim to B&P Branch. He took the file willingly. Said he gave the file to Pradeep. On personally checking the same was not entered in the register, checked out again. Person said no such file, no Mhndr.Called Mhndr, no response. Back in the branch Mhndr asked me to accompany him in B&P Branch. I was angry and refused. He went there and collected the file himself, came back and threw the file on my table.

US told me that once you let yourself defeated they would look down upon you more and more.
Mhndr and Dshna came late and arrived together. He said they sat in the same bike together.

Bg took leave to go to krishi bhawan and rail bhawan, Mhndr not yet arrived. US told me to give the attendence register to Dir's. I called 5585 for Vivek. Harish said Vivek was not around, went to LB-1. Said attendance register may not be sent for the day. There after Mahndr ginderly walked in, wished good morning to US, and quietly sat down.

Minutes of sitting on 12.1.2018 approved. Made ready for circulation to members at local and permanent addresses, got translated. But hindi version arrived late. Will circulate on monday
